Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam Expansion Pack Announced

Jul 18 2010 Published by under Games

I’m looking forward to this already. Bad Company 2 has seen some of the best FPS multiplayer gaming of recent times and playing some jungle warfare can only be a welcome addition.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam digital expansion pack takes all of the intensity, action and addictive gameplay of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and ups the ante with enhanced persistence, new weapons, vehicles, unlocks, awards, achievements and trophies. Featuring four new maps playable in classic Battlefield modes including Conquest and Rush, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be available worldwide this winter for the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and PC. Price will be announced at a later date.

Defined by its exceedingly intense vehicular warfare, destruction, variety of weapons and huge sandbox environments, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is one of 2010′s top selling action games. The game is available in North America and Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Singularity

It has to be said there aren’t many decent new FPS games being released at the moment but Singularity looks like it will be worth a punt.

It’s grabbing a score of 78/100 over on Metacritic (this is the PC score).

This is what Eurogamer had to say:

It’s the first game I’ve played in ages that realises first-person shooters can bundle in as much philosophy and as many moral dilemmas as they like, but fundamentally they’re still about shooting monsters in the face, and so what it lacks in originality it makes up for in variety, pacing and exuberance.

and Gamespot:

Singularity isn’t a groundbreaking shooter, but it’s an incredibly fun one. This is an example of how fluid pacing and a tongue-in-cheek attitude can make old conventions exciting again

I may well pick it up when it drops in price a little and is sounds like a good blast.

Until then I’ll make do with replaying the excellent Half Life 2 AGAIN and finishing off Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood; which isn’t half bad for the oft neglected western shooter genre (lets not to mention the half a dozen other games I’ve got on the go).
